CHANGES TO JURY SERVICE: To streamline function, improve response time, and decrease associated costs for taxpayers, Caldwell County is transitioning the current jury summons process from a paper questionnaire to electronic using the Odyssey Jury Management program.
This new program will increase court efficiency and improve convenience for jurors by utilizing online features easily accessed by phone, laptop or any web-based device found as close as your fingertips. Prospective jurors will continue to receive summons by mail. The new cost savings post card will provide simple to follow instructions for mandatory eResponse registration. The eResponse self-serve platform will be available 24/7, 365 days a year and replaces the paper questionnaire previously found on the tri-fold summons. Exemptions or disqualification are determined while completing the online questionnaire simply by clicking yes or no. Approval or denial responses will be delivered via text or email to the potential juror from the District Clerk’s office.

This innovative solution will be implemented in December 2022 providing a flexible, convenient, and efficient communication between potential juror and the District Clerk’s office minimizing the possibility of Failure to Appear fines. To ensure all residents have equal opportunity, the District Clerk has approved the use of an internet enabled computer dedicated solely for the confirmation of jury service upon request. Note, access to this computer will be granted until 5:00 pm the Thursday before your scheduled appearance date. Please visit the District Clerks office located at 1703 S. Colorado, Lockhart, TX 78644. All individuals summoned for jury duty must confirm through the online eResponse system no later than midnight the Thursday before your scheduled service date. Please call 512-398-1806 ext. 4370 with questions.

If you need information about birth certificates, marriage licenses, property records, or misdemeanor criminal records, you will need to contact the COUNTY Clerk's Office.
