Incident Report: Multiple Structure Fires in the Dale Fire District

Date: 10-07-2024
Location: Bee Creek Rd and FM 20 East, and 105 Walnut Creek Lane, Dale, Texas
Incident: Two significant structure fires concurrently reported 

Overview:
Two separate but simultaneous fire incidents occurred within the same fire district, prompting a coordinated response from multiple firefighting units and emergency services.

Fire Details:

  1. Bee Creek Fire
    • Location: Bee Creek Rd and 11385 FM 20 East 
    • Fire Status: 10 acres burning with two structures involved 
    • Containment: Currently 55% contained 
    • Official Name: The Bee Creek Fire as designated by the Texas Forest Service 
    • Re-evaluation Scheduled: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Oct. 8
  2. Walnut Creek Fire
    • Location: 105 Walnut Creek Lane, Dale 
    • Description: Double-wide mobile home fully involved and total loss.

  • Texas Forest Service (including two bulldozers and a Blackhawk Helicopter)

  • Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office 
  • Lockhart EMS 
  • Red Cross 
  • Texas Division of Emergency Management 
  • Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management 
  • Texas State Fire Marshal's Office 
  • Caldwell County Emergency Management

Casualties and Damage:
No injuries reported during the incident. However, two fire trucks suffered mechanical failures while responding to the fires.

Next Steps:
Efforts to continue suppression of The Bee Creek Fire will persist, with a focus on achieving full containment. A detailed re-evaluation at 11:00 A.M. will provide an updated assessment of the containment status and resource needs.
