UPDATE (8/19): The fire is 95% contained at 1/2 acre.

UPDATE: The fire is now 90% contained and Starflight is no longer drawing water from the City Park pond. The City of Lockhart will be monitoring the area overnight. We are now clear of the area. 

Please avoid Lockhart City Park until further notice. Starflight is drawing water from City Pond to help an effort to extinguish a grass fire in the 1500 block of East Market Street that is currently at 40% containment. The fire is along a ravine and poses no danger to neighboring properties at this time, but please avoid the pond and the area to allow Starflight easy access to the pond.
