The new Buc-ee's in Luling was the talk of southeast Caldwell County this week. The new store — which is being touted as the world's largest in the chain of gas station/convenience stores — is the culmination of the work of various public and private entities who collaborated to make it happen. 

The new facility, which totals out at more than more than 75,000 square feet, includes 120 fuel pumps and employs 200 people.

The location opened two years after the company entered into a Chapter 381 economic development agreement with Caldwell County, which allows counties to negotiate directly with developers and businesses to provide incentives encouraging developers to build in their jurisdictions.
