Caldwell County is announcing an enhancement to its TextMyGov smart text messaging service that is designed to keep residents better informed during local events and emergencies.

Effective Friday, Dec. 19, the county will introduce location-based text messaging that delivers targeted notifications to specific areas within the county. This new feature will provide timely alerts about:

• Road closures and construction updates
• Severe weather and other hazards
• Facility closures and modified hours
