Caldwell County Treasurer Gloria Garcia joined county treasurers from across the state at the first-ever County Treasurers’ Day at the Capitol, held Tuesday, April 8 in Austin.

The event provided an essential platform for treasurers to connect with their House and Senate Representatives, educate staff on the essential functions performed by County Treasurers, and stay informed on current trends that affect their roles in serving Texas counties.

County Treasurers started their morning at Texas Association of Counties for a weekly legislative update on recent Legislative Session events and then heading to the Capitol to be recognized on both the House and Senate floors by Chairman Cecil Bell in the House and Senator Bob Nichols in the Senate.

Capitol staffers joined the group for and listened and learned about the crucial functions County Treasurers perform for counties every day.
