The Caldwell County Courthouse did double duty as a field trip destination this week, hosting a group of students from CLEAR Leadership Academy in Lockhart.

With Pct. 1 Commissioner B.J. Westmoreland playing docent, students learned facts about the historic building and heard from the county's elected, law enforcement and administrative professionals about the roles they fulfill as public servants before wrapping up the day with a picnic on the courthouse lawn.
