Local leaders such as county judges, mayors, school superintendents, city council members and school board presidents serve as advocates for residents of their communities at the state level. Caldwell County Judge Hoppy Haden and members of the county's leadership team joined community leaders from Lockhart, Luling and Martindale as well as Lockhart ISD and Luling ISD at the State Capitol on Wednesday, meeting with State Rep. Stan Gerdes, State Sen. Judith Zaffirini and Adriana Cruz, executive director of economic development and tourism. Local officials shared their visions for local government and priorities for their communities with state leaders after being officially recognized by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
