A Message from Constable Terrell,
As your Elected Constable, I am dedicated to staffing my Department with
experienced Law Enforcement Personnel who will effectively process and
execute civil and criminal process in accordance with Federal and State law,
Texas Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure and the Local Rules of Caldwell
County. We are sensitive and responsive to plaintiffs and defendants in the
performance of our duties.

Functions of the Constable's Office
Civil Process Division:
The Civil Process Division serves legal notices in Civil Matters and executes Civil Orders of the
Justice Court. Common examples of Civil Duties of the Constable include notices include Child
Support Subpoenas, Eviction Notices, Emergency Peace Bonds, and executions of Judgements.
Civil Deputies and Constable Te rrell work with Citizens to reach an amicable conclusion between
both parties in a Civil Matter. During 2009, Constables made over 360 Civil
visits to Citizens of Precinct One.
Criminal Warrant Division
The Criminal Warrant Division executes arrest warrants issued by the Justice Court and other
Courts having valid warrants for Citizens. In the vast majority of cases, Deputies are able to
resolve arrest warrants WITHOUT the physical arrest of an individual. During the 2009, over $60,000
dollars in Warrant Fines were collected by Deputies. Several feloney arrests werealsomade by our
Department for the Adult Probation Department forpersons whohave violated the terms of Cort ordered
probation.
Bailiff's Division
In 2009, over 2,400 Criminal Cases were filed in our Justice Court and numerous Civil Cases were
additionally filed. Many of these cases required Court Appearances and the Deputy Constables
provide Bailiff services to the JP Court to assure cases are heard in a professional and peaceful
manner.
