(3) Juveniles 16 years of age or younger must appear in court with a parent or guardian on orbefore their appearance date as shown on the citation or be subject to having their licensesuspended as required by law.

(4) If you fail to respond to the charge(s) by the appearance date shown on the citation, an additional charge will be filed against you for Violate Promise to Appear and warrants will be issued for your arrest.

DRIVING SAFETY COURSE OR MOTORCYCLE OPERATOR SAFETY COURSE

 

 

 

Under the laws of the State of Texas, you may be able to require that (one) charge be dismissed by taking a driving safety course. However, you must provide written notice of your intent to the Court on or before the appearance date as shown on your citation.

 

 

 

YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: (moving violations only)

 

1. You enter a plea of guilty or no contest and pay the fee of $110.00
2. You have not completed a course for dismissal of a citation within the past 12 months.
3. Your alleged speed was no more than 24 mph over the posted speed limit.
4. You have a valid Texas Driver’s License or Active Military ID.
5. You provide proof of insurance.
6. You DO NOT hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
7. You can not have been cited in a Construction Zone with Workers Present.

 

 

Once requested, you will be mailed a packet with DSC Instructions and requirements. You have a maximum of 90 days from your appearance date to complete the course and submit all requirements to the Court. You do not pay the listed fine below for the violation if you wish to take the course.
